ULTRASOUND-GUIDED CORTICOSTEROID INFILTRATIONS
DR. JORDI JIMÉNEZ

Corticosteroids in traumatology have several important applications, especially in the treatment of inflammation and pain associated with various musculoskeletal conditions:

  • Inflammation Reduction: Corticosteroids are potent anti-inflammatories. They are used to reduce inflammation in conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, and other joint or soft tissue conditions.
  • Pain Relief: By reducing inflammation, corticosteroids also help relieve the pain associated with these conditions, which improves the patient's mobility and quality of life.
  • Sports Injury Management: They are commonly used in the management of sports injuries, such as sprains and strains, to accelerate recovery.

Dr. Jordi Jiménez has extensive experience in ultrasound-guided interventions and ultrasound-guided corticosteroid injection therapy in Palma de Mallorca. This technique involves injecting corticosteroids directly into the affected area under ultrasound guidance. Ultrasound allows for precise placement of the medication, increasing its effectiveness and reducing the risk of side effects. These injections are especially useful for treating specific lesions and areas of localized inflammation.
