[VIDEO] Ultrasound-guided infiltration of the lumbar facets
- 03/11/2025
This video shows a ultrasound-guided injection of a right L4-L5 lumbar facet. Low back pain is one of the main reasons for medical consultation and work absence in our country. It is often multifactorial, with origins in different structures: muscular, tendinous, discal, or even bony. One of these anatomical structures causing low back pain is the lumbar zygapophyseal joint or lumbar facet, located at the posterior part of the lumbar spine. These lumbar facets account for 15% to 46% of chronic low back pain in our environment, and their involvement due to inflammatory, traumatic, or arthritic causes leads to the so-called lumbar facet syndrome.
