[VIDEO] Ultrasound-guided infiltration of the acromioclavicular joint

  • 07/10/2025

Ultrasound-guided infiltration of the acromioclavicular joint is an interventional procedure that, through ultrasound guidance, allows the administration of analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication directly into the shoulder joint. This joint, formed by the ends of the acromion and clavicle, is small but essential for scapular movement and, secondarily, for the shoulder. Pain in this joint can alter muscle activity and scapular kinematics, generating biomechanical changes that affect shoulder function and cause discomfort. Ultrasound-guided infiltration is an effective method for pain control and can be combined with pharmacological treatment and rehabilitation programs, thus contributing to faster and more effective recovery.
